Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was spoken with by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines through the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is vital that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be dangerous.
